'Big' Jim White

Possibly one of the most convincing voices on today's Elvis scene, Prestwich born "Big" Jim White is recognised in the Elvis Presley Anthology as the UK's premier performer. He is held in high regard by Elvis fans and other tribute artists alike.

This giant of a man began his career back in 1971 and has been the front man for Presley In Mind since its conception in 1977. He has since worked with many artists including Tommy Bruce and P.J. Proby, along with Manchester comics Colin Crompton and Bernard Manning.

Jim's integrity to the memory of Elvis is such that he once famously turned down the opportunity to play Elvis in a TV commercial for a well-known jeans company as it would have involved some insensitive mockery of his idol - something Jim has vowed he would never do.

Jim has represented the Elvis Fan Club of Great Britain and The Commonwealth on TV and Radio, and was Guest of Honour at their celebrations to mark the 10th anniversary of Elvis' death, at the Empire Theatre, London in 1987. He has played to packed theatres across Britain and the continent, and the authenticity of his performance is seldom forgotten.
