Our annual Charity Show held at The Hough End Centre on the 8th December in aid of Christies Hospital raised £700. Our thanks go once again to support artistes Kevin Harris, Gary Nash and Terry Devon for helping to make this special evening so successful. Thanks also to all the staff at Hough End, the volunteers from The Round Table and everyone who attended and supported the event.

Last month's charity gig at Mr. Earls Sports & Social Club raised a total of £755 in aid of the family of Aiden Thomas. Well done to event organiser Tracey Taylor and all the lads from "Elvis in the Browser" for the kind way in which they received us. It was great to work with Billy Dean again and our best wishes go to him and Aiden's family for the future.


Sept '07

Jim will be giving a special performance of his solo "From the Heart" Show on the 21st of this month at Mr. Earls Sports & Social Club in Higher Ince, Wigan. The show will be to raise funds for the family of Aidan Thomas, a young boy of 12 who died in tragic circumstances earlier this year. Tickets cost £5 and can be pre-booked now with Tracey on 01942 209 584 or 07747 426 390 or payment can be made on the evening, subject to availability. Any support for this worthwhile cause would be greatly appreciated.


Sept '07

Tickets are now on sale for our "Forever Elvis" Christmas Show to be held on Saturday 8th December 2007 at the Hough End Centre, Mauldeth Road West, Chorlton.  Once again the show will be a fund raiser for Christie's Hospital and will consist of a full evenings entertainment including guest vocalist Gary Nash and comedian Terry Devon, as well as a charity raffle. Tickets are priced £8 each - please contact Steve Thomson. As always, this event is expected to sell out quickly so book early to avoid disappointment.

Congratulations go to our drummer Will Shaw upon his marriage to Lindsey Foulds on the 28th of July. The couple will be touring North America for their Honeymoon, returning next month. Best wishes from all the lads in the band - have a great time.

The Southern Hotel in Chorlton, home of the infamous Buzz Club, has offered "Big" Jim White's "Presley In Mind" a monthly residency in the very room where the band first reunited in 2002! Keep an eye on the gigs list to find out when you can join us at this excellent and newly refurbished venue. It's free entry and the Irish atmosphere is warm and friendly. Let's relive the old days of the Bulls Head!

We say goodbye to our drummer Brian Cusick this month as he and his wife head off for a new life in Dubai! Brian had been with "Presley In Mind" throughout the 80's and has played with them again since they reformed in 2002. His successor has been named as Will Shaw and you can find out more about Will in the band profiles section of this website. Best wishes from the entire band to Brian and welcome aboard Will!

Jim appeared at the Blackpool "Walk A Golden Mile In My Shoes" convention again this year, back by popular demand. Our thanks to event organisers Martin Fox and Michael King for their hospitality and our congratulations to Oliver Steinhoff upon winning this years competition. The band raised £1505.00 in aid of Christie's Hospital at a special charity performance at the Hough End Centre this month. Thank you to everyone who attended and gave generously on the evening. Special thanks go to the cast members of Emmerdale, Shameless and Hollyoaks for joining us for this event. Thanks also to the Round Table lads and our friend Ged Fitzgerald who worked hard to make the whole thing possible.

"Live at the Bulls Head" [£10.00] is an original recording made way back in 1986, digitally re-mastered to meet modern standards.
"From the Heart" [£10.00] is a high definition studio recording of a rare selection of Elvis' love ballads.
"Big Jim White - The Five Year Tour" [£12.00] is an extensive collection of live recordings on a double CD.

The band donated £500 to The Manchester Christie's Hospital from their fund raising event at The Irish World Heritage Centre. Many thanks to everyone who came along and enjoyed the evening, with special thanks to The Round Table and the crew from Blast Films who came to record footage for their forthcoming documentary.

After successfully raising over £1,300 last year in colaboration with The Prestwich Salford & Whitefield Round Table on behalf of the Five Stars Scanner Appeal, Presley In Mind have embarked upon a series of charity events to assist local cancer charities. Cancer affects all our lives and is a subject close to the hearts of Big Jim White and the members of the band. Charities chosen to benefit from these gigs include The Manchester Christie Hospital and The Five Stars Scanner Appeal. Keep an eye out for forthcoming announcements on the website.
